Sparkpaw sat there, all alone,as usual. He blinked across the field. Will anyone ever be able to understand me? he thought. Will I ever be able to talk again? He padded over to a puddle and looked down at his reflection. He blinked at the scar over his throat.
Blood was all over the floor of the barn. Spark gasped. "Wh...what's going on?" he asked. He took another step. "Mother?!Father?!" he cried.
That's when he saw them, lying on the floor, dead.
"Sky?" he called.
There was a scream.
"Sky!" he yelled darting towards the noise.
He jumped up to the loft to find his broth crouching over something.
"Shade? Shade? What's going..." he started.
Shade flung his dark head so black eyes met blue. Then he stepped towards him revealing the blood-stained body of Sky.
"Sh...ade?" asked Spark fearfully.
Shade pounced ontop of him and clawed at his face.
Spark let out a cry of pain. Then he looked up at his brother. "Wh...what are you doing?"
Shade shook his head and laughed. "Foolish little brother. I don't want anything to do with this patheic family. You're so much like them...so caring...so conciderate! I care for no one but me!"
Spark looked at up at him his blue eys full of fear. "But why...? Why not just leave? Why do this to them?"
Shade looked down at him. "I wanted them to suffer, just as I want you to suffer!" he hissed in a quiet, but deadly voice.
Then he clawed at Spark's belly.
Hissing and spitting they fought, lighting flashing outside, rain pounding on the roof until they fell off the loft.
Spark landed with a sickening crack. He let out a cry of pain as his leg colided painfully with the ground.
He tried to stand up but fell to the ground.
Shade stood up and padded over to him.
Spark looked up at him. "P...please...don't...don't kill me!" he wailed as his brother advanced.
Shade looked at him with disgust. He shook his head. "You're not worth killing!" hissed Shade.
Shade slashed his claws across his brother's throat. Blood gushed out. "Cling to your patheic life little Sparky."
With that his brother padded away into the darkness.
Sparkpaw torn his gaze away from his reflection. Don't think about the past. he told himself. Don't think about them, think about the clan!
